Cụm từ "nâng cao" trong IELTS Writing (band 7+)

• in the light of

because of something or as a result of something:
In light of problems we're having, we have no choice but to close the business.

• in the face of

despite having to deal with a difficult situation or problem:
She left home in the face of strong opposition from her parents.

• in the name of

(said or done) in order to help a particular thing succeed:
Much blood has been spilled in the name of religion.

• in the case of

in connection with someone or something, or in the situation of something:
The law will apply equally to men and women except in the case of maternity leave.

• in case of

if something happens, or in preparation for when something happens:
The camping area has ready access to water, in case of fire.

• on the basis of something

because of a particular fact or situation
Examples :
• Employers are not allowed to discriminate on the basis of race or sex.
• The employer is only allowed to discriminate on the basis of personal merit and suitability for the job.

• on the surface of something

Superficially; considering only the obvious details or outward appearance (of someone or something).
Example:
• On the surface, he seems like a really successful businessman, with his life all put together. But if you pull back the curtain a bit, you realize that his life is a mess.
• Everything looked fine on the surface, but after we began we realized that the plan was fundamentally flawed.
